L’edizione speciale Ford GT Series Competition risulta ancora più estrema e senza compromessi perché spogliata di tutto il superfluo per risparmiare peso

La Casa dell’Ovale blu ha svelato in occasione della celebre competizione della  500 Miglia di Daytona l’inedita Ford GT Competition Series. Questa edizione speciale della potentissima supercar americana celebre il successo della variante da gara della GT conquistato proprio alla 24 Ore di Daytona.

Esteticamente questa serie speciale si riconosce per la fibra di carbonio a vista dedicata alle stripe, alle calotte degli specchietti retrovisori, ai montanti anteriori e ai numerosi componenti aerodinamici. La GT Series Competition vanta una dotazione speciale che punta ad esaltare ulteriormente il carattere “racing” della vettura:  per risparmiare peso prezioso si è optato per la  finestratura in Perspex e per il Gorilla Glass al posto del cristallo dedicato al vano motore, senza dimenticare la scelta dell’apertura con ganci manuali e l’asta in fibra di carbonio al posto dei supporti ammortizzati.

Sempre per il medesimo scopo si è rinunciato a qualunque tipo di confort come il climatizzatore, l’impianto audio, la presenza di vani portaoggetti e del portabicchieri. Non mancano inoltre  cerchi di lega in fibra di carbonio con bulloni in titanio e l’impianto di scarico di titanio.  Plancia ed interni sono invece impreziositi da rivestimenti  in  Alcantara in tinta Ebony.
