Una Gold Cup che incorona il Messico vincitore del torneo, però la Giamaica ottiene uno storico risultato: è la prima Nazionale caraibica a raggiungere la finale della competizione

Il Messico ha battuto agevolmente in finale la Giamaica con il risultato di 3-1, conquistando la sua settima Gold Cup, trofeo che incorona la nazionale campione del Centro-Nord America. Andres Guardado ha sbloccato il risultato al 31′ del primo tempo con un sinistro al volo, quarta rete nel torneo. Nella ripresa Jesus Corona e Oribe Peralta hanno chiuso la partita ed il gol di Darren Mattocks a 10′ dal termine ha permesso solo ai Reggae Boyz di salvare l’onore. Resta la soddisfazione di aver eliminato in semifinale gli Stati Uniti, divenendo la prima nazionale caraibica a raggiungere la finale della Gold Cup.
