Ottima prestazione degli azzurri alla Diamond League di Stoccolma in vista dei Mondiali di Pechino, Tamberi terzo

Orlando Ortega non stecca ed è uno dei principali protagonisti al meeting di Stoccolma, dodicesimo appuntamento stagionale della Diamond League e ultimo meeting prima dei Mondiali di Pechino. Non va male neppure l’azzurro Gianmarco Tamberi che nella sua gara ha chiuso in 2.29, dietro all’americano Jacorian Duffield (2.32) ed al qatariota Barshim (2.29). Quinta posizione per l’altro azzurro Marco Fassinotti che ha fatto registrare 2.25. Fra le gare più attese della serata i 110 hs dove il campione del mondo David Oliver si è dovuto arrendere a Orlando Ortega e Sergei Shubenkov: 13″18 il crono del cubano ormai naturalizzato spagnolo, primatista mondiale in questo 2015 dall’alto del 12″94 fatto segnare a Parigi poche settimane fa, col russo campione europeo subito dietro (13″22) e Oliver (13″24) davanti a Jason Richardson.

Nei 1500 vince Souleiman come era prevedibile in 3’33″33 davanti al ceco Holusa ed al turco Ozbilen. Nei 400 vince Machel Cedenio di Trinidad e Tobago vince in 44″97, davanti al dominicano Luguelin Santos e al britannico Martyn Rooney. Negli 800 sesto posto per Giordano Benedetto (1’46″17); vittoria per il qatariota Balla davanti al canadese Bube e al britannico Rimmer. Nel triplo femminile la spunta la campionessa mondiale Caterine Ibarguen con la misura di 14,69 con l’olimpionica Olga Rypakova solo seconda (14,30) con due nulli in chiusura. Per la colombiana, imbattuta dai Giochi di Londra, è la 28esima vittoria consecutiva.
Doppietta marocchina nei 3000 siepi uomini: vittoria per Hicham Sigueni (personale con 8’16″54) davanti a Brahim Taleb. Negli 800 donne prima vittoria in Diamond League per la 21enne francese Renelle Lamote. Nei 100 donne vittoria scontata per Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. La giamaicana ha chiuso in 10″93, davanti all’americana Tori (11″05) e la connazionale Morrison (11″22). Nel lungo uomini, vittoria del campione olimpico Greg Rutherford (8.34) davanti a Marquis Dendy (8.09) come da pronostico.

Zuzana Hejnova domina i 400 hs in 54″37, nei 200 privi di stelle si mette in evidenza Alonso Edward (20″04). Tornando agli azzurri in gara, la staffetta 4X100 composta da Cerutti, Riparelli, Manenti e Galbieri vince in 39″15 la sfida con Svezia e Romania ma non basta per Pechino: ultima chance sabato a Rieti. Settimo posto per Margherita Magnani (9’02″08, personale stagionale) nei 3000 vinti dall’americana Katie Mackey. Ieri, nel getto del peso femminile, successo come da pronostico per Christina Schwanitz (20,13) con Valerie Adams solo quarta e ancora sulla via del recupero dal doppio intervento a gomito e spalla.
